Are we really free? My Kit-Kat melted and I missed the bus, you know what I mean? Televisions tries to make me stupid. Every day I go outside with a forty in my hand and an apple pie, throw my fist into the sky 'cause I'm ticked off and I don't know why. It's the government, blame the government on the government. Screw the government. All the men on TV stand so strong with shoulders so broad, you know what I mean? But that's not my scene/pair of shoulders. I do my own thing (so soft and clean) if you know what I mean. Politicians tries to make me stupid. When I die they won't know what I meant, 'cause all I ever said was the government (love those shoulders).

I gotta get up early, I gotta go to work. I gotta make my money and buy a brand new shirt. Screw the orphanage, all those little kids. Goddamn freeloaders, but you know how it is. Something's gotta give... I'm gonna love you like there's no tomorrow, hey do you have a shirt I can borrow? 'Cause I'm love with a downtown lady. I'm in love with a downtown lady, I'm gonna ask her to my baby. I'm gonna love her like there's no tomorrow. You know I'm out on my own, just trying to find my place. But there's all these little kids taking up my space. You know they're asking for it. For a warm embrace. That's when I sneak attack, with a punch to the face!

Heard there's a party down on Baker Street. I guess that that sounds pretty wild. They've got alcohol and disco beats. Hop in the car, turn up the radio, but all the stations sound the same. Pop in my favorite La Dispute CD: Here, Hear II. Here, Hear III. I disagree. Here's the chorus. Sing-along anyway. We're just kids and we don't care what you say. Turn the bass up like we do everyday. We pull up inside my dad's sedan. I see my ex outside the door. Turns out we went to the wrong house again, but it's close enough.
